Bali is the destination par excellence for the surfers, the lovers of the party and the beach. If you already have experience in the field Uluwatu is your place, if instead, you are a novice the best are beaches like Padang Padang, Kuta or Dreamland. Surfing has a long history and California helped the sport get noticed through movies, music, TV shows, and the surf culture which began in the early 1900s and exploded in the 50s and 60s. Australia’s surf beaches, where first-class waves for all surfing abilities crash, are born from the Pacific Ocean in the east, the Indian Ocean in the west and the Southern Ocean in the south. Bells Beach, near Torquay, the gateway to Victoria’s Surf Coast on the Great Ocean Road. Hang out in Burleigh Heads or coast along one of the world’s longest waves at Snapper Rocks on Queensland’s Gold Coast. You’ll find a wave to yourself in Western Australia and if you are thinking about to buy a surfboard this is your place: Australian surfboard-makers have driven innovation in surfboard design and production since the 60’s.
