The Hotel Riu Plaza de España has one of the most spectacular roof terraces in Madrid, with exceptional 360° views (or vistas, as they say in Spain) of the entire city.

The sky bar spreads over more than 500 m2, and it’s the perfect place to enjoy your evening. With its two bars and several tables with sofas and armchairs, as well as bar stools and high tables, the rooftop terrace offers stunning views over the Plaza de España, the Royal Palace, Casa de Campo, Gran Via, the skyscrapers of Azca, and the Sierra de Madrid hills.

The bar, called De Madrid Al Cielo, is located on the 26th floor, (the 360° roof terrace is on the 27th floor) and it offers a wide variety of drinks and tapas. There is also an original 4.5-meter-long glass walkway linking the two rooftop areas, offering the dizzying sensation that you’re walking 100 meters up in the air with nothing beneath your feet. To access the roof terrace, there is a high-speed lift at street level, which you can access without entering the hotel lobby.

Access fee: €5 from Monday to Friday, 11 am-5 pm, €10 from 5 pm to 11 pm, and €10 all day on weekends and public holidays.

Casa Suecia

Casa Suecia first opened its doors in Madrid in 1956. It’s at the heart and soul of the Swedish community and since the beginning, it has been a meeting point for intellectuals in the city.

Located on the eleventh floor of NH Collection Madrid Suecia, this rooftop is one of the most exclusive sky bars in the city. It has two stories that offer the most spectacular views of Madrid, as well as a wide variety of cocktails and other drinks, and a stylish décor.

It’s one of the capital’s most emblematic buildings, a particular favorite of Swedish royal visits, and the place where writers like Cortázar, Sábato, or Hemingway decided to spend time back in the days.

Access: it’s open every day from 12:30 pm to closing.

Hotel Exe Moncloa
