Known for its beaches, temples and historic sites, and natural beauty, Bali is Indonesia’s tropical paradise on Earth. There are many different places to visit and things to do when you are in Bali. One of the most popular attractions of Bali is its beaches. The water is clear, the waves are gentle, and the sun is shiny! What’s better than a surfing! Surfing lesson can also be found in some beaches like Kuta beach.
If you are aiming to explore more of the historical side of Bali, head to explore some temples like Tanah Lot Temple. This temple sits on the top of a huge rock surrounded by the sea. It is probably the most iconic temple of Bali. Uluwatu Temple is also a great place to enjoy sunsets by the sea and amphitheater dances. Besakih Temple lies on the slopes of Mount Agung, at 1,000m height.
One of the other popular sites is Goa Gajah which was built for meditation. It is filled with rock- wall carvings, pools and fountains.
Ubud is a major town that is considered a center for crafts, art, and dance in Bali. Even though Ubud does not sit on the beach, it is surrounded by rice terraces and forests. Ubud is filled with an abundance of art galleries exhibiting some of the finest art and cultural work of Balinese artists. Also, many bands perform cultural dancing at Bali Cultural Center. If you like to do some shopping and buy some clothes or souvenirs representing the culture, head for the Art Market which also knows for “Pasar Seni Ubud.” You can find many of the hand-made cultural goods like shirts, bags, scarves among many others.
Bali is also famous for its lush rice terraces. The rice terraces are some of the nature’s most stunning views tourists love to visit and enjoy. Bali and its surrounding area are filled with these picture-perfect scenes of rice paddies filled with farmers. Some of these terraces include Jatiluwih Rice Terraces, Tegallalang Rice Terraces, and Tegallalang Rice Terraces. Make sure to stop at some or all of these attractions and enjoy the scenery.
As for animal lovers, there are also many things to enjoy while in Bali.
Some of the most family-friendly and attractive places to visit and enjoy animals are Ubud Monkey Forest and Bali Safari and Marine Park. First, stop at Ubud Monkey Forest, which is also known as the Sacred Monkey Forest of Padangtegal. This natural forest sanctuary is home to the macaques. These playful long-tailed monkeys will give you a great fun time watching them swinging through canopies, jumping from a tree to another, or feeding them some yummy bananas. This attraction is situated near the center of Bali and is close to most villas, guest houses and resorts.
Also, visit Bali Safari and Marine Park for a full fun day with your family and friends. This is a famous theme park which is one of the most anticipated stops for tourists in the area. This park is the home of more than 60 species. Get on a safari bus and enjoy watching elephants, deer, bears, baby sharks at the aquarium, hippos, zebras, camels, ostriches, baboons, white tigers, and much more.
