About Pineda de Mar

Pineda de Mar is a municipality on the coast between Calella and Santa Susanna. In the comarca of Maresme, Catalonia, Spain. Located on the southern end of Costa Brava, the town has a population of more than 25,000. Most of the area of the municipality consists of ports or beaches of fine, golden sand or pebbles.

Fundación Tharrats

The Fundación Pública Municipal Joan Josep Tharrats de Arte Gráfico was inaugurated in 1991 and is located in the Can Comas building of Pineda de Mar. It was built to promote the works of the artist Joan Josep Tharrats and to become a point of reference in the field of graphics and vanguard artistic movements. At present, the Foundation houses an archive of 500 works of Tharrants and other artists like J. Gujinovart, A. Clavé, J. Miró, J. Ponc, C. Fontserré and J.M. Subirachs. The gallery has a mess, restaurant, café and bar, all in one. With brickwork and vaulted ceilings and displays of art, the mess is a perfect place for leisure lunch or drinks.

Montnegre i el Corredor Natural Park

The natural park is a massif on the Catalan coastal range, located between Vallgorguina and Arenys de Munt, where the regions of Maresme and Vallès Occidental meet. Covering almost 15,000 hectares of untouched nature, the place is still unknown to many. It was the settlement of Neolithic tribes on the Mediterranean coast. Inhabited by many animals and plants, the area is protected and recommended for activities like hiking, bird watching, trekking, rural tourism and more. It is also home to a monument named “Vallgorguina Dolmen” which is a megalithic construction that is considered a center of spiritual energy.
