Surely many of you have used the expression: Google it. We are the privileged generation in which distances no longer matter, in which information is within reach of a click, in which doubts are solved with super-intelligent searchers. A generation that looks for ways to achieve and get out of that comfortable and structured life, a generation that needs a way to escape and reconnect with that past spirit where you were guided by a paper map.

Surely many of you have consulted travel blogs and have wished, at one time or another, to tell your stories as those globetrotters do: How do you know that you are addicted to travel? Why (not) fall in love with a person who travels? How to travel without money? How to prepare for a trip with a backpack?… Without a doubt, all awaken a terrible desire to take a bag and go to discover those wonderful corners hidden in the world. But what few posts talk about is the hours before to take off. All the things you leave behind, friends, family, animals, jobs … In short, the life you know.

We have spoken with some of these nomads and today we are going to tell you why they do what they do. So, we ask them the same question as everybody does: why do you do it? Don’t you miss your family? How can you be so brave? Where do you get the money from? … Amazingly, the answers are so similar: for many reasons and not for one in particular.

They tell us that they have the same doubts when they embark on these adventures: what am I going to do so long outside? Why have I decided to travel alone? What happens if I am not able to adapt to where I am going? Why should I do if I can’t find any job and run out of money? What did I take with me in my suitcase and, more importantly, what did I leave along the way? Questions in which they confess not to waste a lot of time because if so, they would probably never leave.

What they tell us is what they picture if they choose the other option: get up early, go to the gym, have breakfast, go to the office, leave the office, go home, prepare dinner, put the TV, go to sleep. Then they pose the following day: get up early, go to the gym, have breakfast, go to the office, leave the office, go home, prepare dinner, put the TV, go to sleep. They confess to us that, without a doubt, it is much more comfortable than their real day to day: go to the airport, say goodbye, 3 cities, 2 continents, take another flight, find out where to spend the first night, try not to get ripped off, think what you want to do, discover new flavors, meet people, say goodbye again, fly, meet people again, look for accommodation … And then they think about the next day: blank. Because they are the ones who decide what they do and when they do it.

Without a doubt, something that frightens and excites in equal parts. That is why they advise that once in a lifetime a solo trip to an unknown country has to be made. It does not have to be long-term, it can be a vacation or even a long weekend, the important thing is to take the step alone. From there they assure that everything is easier if you really want to do it, but you need to find out what kind of person you are.

Obviously, not everyone is made for the nomadic life, that is why we offer all kinds of accommodation because the important thing is to feel home everywhere. We are all customary animals, as they say in India: “Same same but different”, different customs but after all, ways of living. That is why they assure us that there is no better way to do things, there are just different ways to do things.

And you, why do you do what you do?
