We have created the perfect guide to the best road trips you need to take this summer. That way when you settle in for an epic excursion, you’ll know exactly where to head. And the options are endless. For the ultimate North-American road trip, you can pick Route 66 or the Pacific Highway. For a vacation surrounded by gorgeous forested mountains, choose Nha Trang to Quy Nhon, in Vietnam. Looking for a postcard-worthy scenario to enjoy your summer vacation? Then the scenic Amalfi Coast, in Italy, is the right bet for you.

Take a look at the list and pick your favorite summer road trip destination.

Route 66 – United States

The route 66 during an orange sunset.

If you have ever taken a drive in the United States, you most likely heard of the U.S. Highway, Route 66. This highway first gained popularity in the mid-1920s as the country’s first all-weather highway linking Chicago to Los Angeles. In total, Route 66 spans over 2,400 miles and offers so much to explore along the way. This route became very famous as it goes straight through the heart of America crossing over eight states and three time zones. These states include Illinois, Kansas, Missouri, Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, and finally California.

This road trip route will take you through historic and natural landmarks in the southern half of the country including the Grand Canyon, the Ozarks, Mojave Desert, The Painted Desert, and more. You can even pop in and visit the Route 66 Hall of Fame, to learn more about the history of this national treasure. One thing is for sure, if you are embarking on a USA road trip this summer, you better take a drive down Route 66. You’ll be mesmerized by scenic landscapes filled with mountains, mind-blowing National Parks, forests, and other natural wonders in the United States.

Mongol Rally – Mongolia

The green hills of Mongolia at dusk.

Buckle in, bring a good book, and get set because the Mongol Rally road trip extends over 10,00 miles. That’s right! This epic adventure takes you all the way from the UK to Mongolia. While there is no official route, the goal of this road trip is to make it from any European destination to Mongolia in one piece and sometime between mid-August to mid-September. It can also take anywhere from a few weeks to a couple of months depending on your route and can cross over 18 countries. So if you are looking for a wild ride through the world’s most intense terrains, and the opportunity to see Europe and Asia unlike ever before, then this is the perfect road trip for you. One adventurer, Bassam Tarazi, put it best when he said “When you travel across half the world, you learn some things.”

Amalfi Coast – Italy

The Amalfi Coast dotted with pink-hued houses at dusk.

A UNESCO Heritage site, due to its scenic beauty and rare natural landscape, one must visit the Amalfi Coast in Italy at least once in their lifetime. The actual town of Amalfi and its neighbors are located in the southern province of Salerno. While the towns are typically only accessible by bus and ferry, this is the perfect destination for summer road trips from cities like Naples, Rome, Florence, and Milan.

Often compared to a painting, the Amalfi Coast cities welcome thousands and thousands of visitors every spring and summer to back on its beaches and take in the panoramic views from the top of the hills. If you’re looking to fall in love with a destination this summer, then you definitely will with the Amalfi Coast.

A great idea for an Amalfi Coast summer road trip is to plan a 7-day itinerary and drive along the southern tip of Italy’s Sorrentine Peninsula. During your trip, you can make pit stops in cities such as Salerno, a port city southeast of Naples; Ravello, and the jaw-dropping Positano, a cliffside village dotted with pastel-hued houses.

Costa Verde – Brazil

The blue-green ocean surrounded by rocks and a forested hill on Trindade Beach, Brasil.

The journey from Rio de Janeiro to São Paulo is one for the books. While you have to pass through some busy traffic in the city first, the drive along the Costa Verde is absolutely breathtaking. The full route is 350 miles (560 kilometers), and there are multiple stops you will want to make along the way. One of the best stops in the historic city of Paraty, which was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Framed by mountains and filled with 17th- and 18th-century buildings, Paraty is the perfect destination for a weekend on the beach.

During your summer road trip in Costa Verde, you can also plan to take a boat tour to one of the 365 islands off the coast and hiking the Serra do Mar, a 1,500 km mountain range. We also recommend taking a surf lesson, go paddleboarding, and enjoy the sunshine off the Atlantic Coast. This is one of the best ways to see the best Brazil has to offer.

Great Ocean Road – Australia

The turquoise ocean surrounded by cliffs on the Great Ocean Road, in Australia.

If Australia is in your travel plans this year or you’re an Aussie and want to explore your own country, then take a drive down Great Ocean Road. The expansive stretch of coast will take you along some of Australia’s most beautiful landscapes. Including the 12 Apostles, Great Otway National Park, London Arch, and more. The entire drive is about 250 miles (400 kilometers), about a 90-minute drive from Melbourne’s city center. It extends all the way to the southernmost point of the continent. Extend your getaway and stay at one of southern Australia’s vacation rentals or hotels to indulge in a one-of-a-kind outdoor getaway.

Panorama Route – South Africa

A small lagoon surrounded by rocks at the Panorama Route, in South Africa.

South Africa’s scenic road trip, Panorama Route, is not just a beautiful drive but a historic adventure through the world’s third-largest canyon, Blyde River Canyon. The entire route takes you through the Mpumalanga province and takes about two to three days to complete. Visitors will love adventuring through waterfalls, forests, and South Africa’s many natural landmarks including Echo Caves and God’s Window. You can also visit national parks and reserves including Kruger National Park and Mount Sheba Nature Reserve. Take a safari drive through the game reserve. You may even spot some of the big five along the way. This will be a trip unlike ever before.

Ring Road – Iceland

The Ring Road leading to a range of snowy mountains, in Iceland.

Iceland’s Ring Road will take you around the entire island. If you ever dreamt about exploring Iceland’s breathtaking waterfalls and geysers, then this is the best way to see it all. The full drive will take about 12 to 13 hours. However, due to the conditions and roads usually takes about a week to complete. There are a few routes you can take, and route one is about 800 miles long. Your trip will most likely start in Reykjavík, the capital of Iceland. Start off day 1 of your adventure by indulging in a day of luxury at the Blue Lagoon. Your excursions will also take you whale-watching, glacier walking, hiking, and so much more. Discover it all on your once in a lifetime road trip around Iceland.

Cabot Trail – Nova Scotia

The Cabot Trail Road surrounded by green forests, at Nova Scotia.

While this list of road trip includes many that last anywhere from a few days to over a month, Cabot Trail in Nova Scotia is one of the shorter road trips on this list. However, that does not mean it does not have just as much to offer road trippers. The drive takes up to five hours and is 185 miles (298 kilometers). The route will take you around Cape Breton Island allowing you to enjoy the gorgeous views. The trail is named after John Cabot, an explorer who found his way to the islands in 1497. The rugged coastline will present you with a relaxing journey of views right over the highlands. Canada has many road trips you will want to embark on, and this one makes the top of the list.

Patagonia – Chile

While this time of year is actually the winter in Chile, June-September is still an excellent time to take a road trip to Patagonia. One of the most jaw-dropping sights in the world is a view of the Torres del Paine national park. Seeing the glaciers and frozen lakes up close offers such a remarkable feeling. You have to see it for yourself. There are also many advantages to road tripping in Patagonia this time of year. Including ice-skating on the lake, watching for arctic wildlife, and hiking. While many people choose to take this drive on their own, it is always a good idea to consult with a tour company or guided road trip. Extra planning comes in handy to make sure conditions are optimal before embarking on your journey. Find incredible accommodations on the way.

Nha Trang to Quy Nhon – Vietnam

The blue ocean framed by cliffs in Nha Trang to Quy Nhon, Vietnam.

This road trip is filled with sweeping views of the Vietnamese countryside, which is dotted with fishing villages, and incredible lush verdant landscapes. If you are a fan of motorbikes and bicycles, you’ll enjoy taking this road trip. On your route, you’ll also have a great time if visiting sites such as the Ba Ho Falls and Da Dia Reef. The journey up highway one takes a total of four hours and is 131 miles (212 kilometers). Not only is Vietnam very peaceful and beautiful, but it is also an incredibly budget-friendly destination for your vacation. Extend your trip by staying at one of the charming hotels along the South China Sea.

Pacific Coast Highway – United States

The Big Sur, on the Pacific Coast Highway, in California.

This is definitely one of the most epic road trips of all time. The Pacific Coast Highway is one of the most famous highways in the United States, and it’s part of the State Route 1, that runs along most of the Pacific coastline of California. Many travelers begin their road trip in Los Angeles, but a great idea for a summer trip is to start driving from Seattle. You can then drive along the coast, and explore cities such as Portland, in Oregon, until you reach Eureka, which is the first stop in California. In Eureka, make sure you go to the Sequoia Park Forest & Garden before making your move to San Francisco. You can then head south and stop in Santa Barbara for a romantic weekend in California, and finally in San Diego.

This authentic North-American road trip will take you to uncover gorgeous ocean views — especially in San Diego — gorgeous Instagrammable places in Los Angeles and San Francisco, and plenty of amazing wineries in Santa Barbara.

California offers some of the most romantic getaways, as well as affordable accommodations to stay at. In almost every city you’ll find a great hotel room, a cozy inn for a more intimate experience, or a resort with a spa. Between the sandy beaches, gorgeous views of all types of landscapes, and relaxing ambiance, it’s no wonder why California is one of the most popular places to visit.

While the golden state often garners the reputation for its overpriced cities, we recommend going off the beaten path to experience its hidden gems. There is so much to discover beyond the big cities. If wine-tasting, dolphin and whale watching, and hiking in national parks are on your bucket list, then California is the place for you. Find your romantic getaway and the most affordable home or hotel to keep you comfortable your whole trip.

Explore Northern California

7 Ways to Offer a Contactless Guest Experience: A New Era for Hotels and Vacation Rentals

7 Ways to Offer a Contactless Guest Experience: A New Era for Hotels and Vacation Rentals

Corona Virus Outbreak 6 MINS READ

This summer, the travel industry has seen a drastic change in tourism and vacation planning with people around the globe asking “when can we travel again?” From last-minute getaways, local staycations, regional road trips, and even turning homes into dream hotels or destinations, people are anxious to experience the world again. The Fear of Travel has created a lot of uncertainty and hesitation for travelers to leave their comfort zones. This is why it is vital and more important than ever for hotels and vacation rental owners to adopt new systems and protocols in place at their properties. Starting with the contactless guest experience.

contacless payment

Hotels and Vacation Rentals: Where to Begin

Hotels and vacation rental owners are now asking themselves “what can we do to encourage guests to stay,” as well as “how can we make guests feel safe?” At CuddlyNest we offer every vertical of accommodation, from hotels to vacation rentals to homes, and everything in between. We too have considered these same questions and applied them to our own business model as the travel industry takes steps to offer a safer and more secure experience for guests, staff, and owners. Which is why we have strongly encouraged our partners and property owners to implement contactless services and offerings at their accommodations.

But of course, actions, speak louder than words. This summer, we at CuddlyNest, announced our newest updates to our site and design. Including a brand new sanitation filter that will show guests the last time their desired accommodation was properly disinfected before they book. We also introduced our newest COVID-19 Exceptional Cancellation policy that will allow guests to receive a full refund, with service fee included, in the form of a CuddlyNest voucher that is valid until December 2021.

Seven Contactless Services

As an OTA, it is our responsibility to ensure that all guests booking with us feel safe, comfortable, and confident in choosing accommodation for whatever type of travel they are embarking on. We are sharing 10 ways vacation rentals and hotels can offer contactless services in this new travel era. Starting with contactless payment and check-ins.

Contactless Payment

For hotels, one of the best ways to avoid interaction when booking accommodation on site is through contactless payment. By offering contactless payment options, hotels and guests can prevent the use of cash or physical credit cards, and instead, use wireless methods and technology to pay for your stay. Many smartphones also support this type of technology making it incredibly convenient. You can simply tap your phone or card with a chip onto the payment terminal, also known as an RFID reader, without exchanging your payment back and forth with the front desk clerk. This process is fast, secure, hygienic, and will allow hotel properties to make on-site reservations quicker and safer.

facial recognition

Contactless Check-in

Through passport scanning, facial recognition, and app technology, guests are now able to check into their vacation rental or hotel without needing to interact with the hotel front desk or property owner using Near Field Communication (NFC). Your second step after arriving at the property can be hassle-free with little to no preparation necessary.

contactless guest experience payment

Keyless Entry

Entry to your hotel room or vacation rental requires just a tap or your mobile or wireless device. It’s that easy. Many hotels around the world have begun using chip devices to keep everything you need for your stay all in one place, including your trip funds. Similar to contactless payment, using RFID technology, hotels are converting key cards into chip bracelets where guests can add their credit cards to be used for hotel purchases. This also acts as a key to access facilities around the property. These bracelets can even be customized to your purchased package allowing you access to VIP services and facilities if they are included in your stay.

contactless guest service

Pre-Stay Communication

It is normal that your guests may have some questions before and during their stay. Communicating with your guest prior to their visit and being accessible to contact during their visit will allow property owners, staff, and guests to remain a safe distance. We recommend sending a digital welcome packet to your guests prior to check-in including any emergency contact information, and local emergency contacts for the area in which they are visiting. These welcome packets should also include detailed information for all contactless processes at the property including keyless entry and self-service check-in, and food and beverage services.

Go the extra mile to provide your guests with the best ways to contact you digitally including SMS, iMessage, email, and free international messaging applications like Whatsapp, to ensure that for whatever reason if your guest needs to reach you, they can. Taking these small yet effective extra steps will make your guests feel even more comfortable at your property.

amazon alexa sensor technology

Sensor Technology

Whether you would like to turn down the thermostat or relax and watch TV, more and more properties are implementing sensor technology to encourage non-touch amenities. While this may seem like a pricey move especially for single vacation rentals, hosts can get creative by using smart technologies like Google Home and Amazon Alexa which allows guests to voice particular actions and commands within the property. Using these types of devices will create even more convenience and ease for your guests, allowing them to focus on enjoying their stay.

food and beverage services

Food and Beverage Services and Partnerships

Although you may be craving a bite in the hotel dining room, hotels are now encouraging room service over in-restaurant dining. While this is a temporary change to prepare for more socially distant facilities and public spaces, it’s the best way to enjoy the delicious hotel meals at a safe distance.

Over the last few months, the hospitality and food and beverage industries have also collaborated to offer exceptional food delivery services to both hotels and vacation rentals. Property owners are now partnering with food delivery services including Postmates, Uber Eats, Door Dash, and more that have committed to providing safe, secure, and contactless service, especially during the pandemic.

Property owners have also begun adding additional services including meal preparation and continental breakfasts to add more amenities to their sites.

explore outdoors

Off-Site Activities and Excursions

While hotels and vacation rentals work to create more ambient and spaced public settings, guests can help here by exploring off-property locations and activities. Choose accommodations with close access to nature, off the beaten path destinations, and staycations. Now is the perfect time for property owners and hotels to expand on what opportunities and offerings there are for their guests near the property without reaching out of guest comfort.

Pro tip: Ask your guest to fill out a survey prior to their visit, so you can help customize their experience and make suggestions for activities, restaurants, and excursions based on their needs and preferences. As a vacation rental owner, taking an interest in your guest satisfaction will not only leave you with a sparkling review but a loyal customer.

If you are a property owner, hotelier, or are looking to launch your own bookable accommodation, implement these steps to ensure a safe, secure, and seamless contactless guest experience. It’s the properties that go the extra mile that will leave the best impression on visitors. Find all types of accommodations, vacation rentals, hotels, and more for a price that cannot be beat, on CuddlyNest.

8 Countries That Boost Pet-Friendly Travel

Hacks & Tips 6 MINS READ

When planning a getaway there is a question that every pet owner has to ask themselves: to bring or not to bring our four-legged friend? Well, we are here to help you make that decision a little bit easier by sharing the top 7 countries that boost pet-friendly travel. It’s no surprise that travelers all over the globe would rather bring their pets with them along for the adventure. Especially, if the alternative is leaving them at home or at an over-night kennel.

Note: Make sure to double-check COVID 19 precautions, protocols, and operating hours before you visit any of these sites.

Tips For Traveling With Your Pet

Before choosing the right travel destination, a good idea is to do some research and learn everything you can pet travel. You can look up what airlines offer the best conditions for pets, what are the ones that allow them to travel in the cabin, and what are the most dog-friendly airlines if this is the case.

Once you have an idea about the best airlines, learn the basics about pet travel, especially about the bureaucracy. You might need to bring your pet’s medical records, and even get an ID for your animal, so it’s better if you learn about that in advance.

Before your travel, also be sure to look up accommodation that allows pets, and book it in advance. In many cases, pet-friendly hotels only have a limited amount of rooms available for travelers and their pets, so it’s best if you get all the necessary information about it beforehand. You should also find out if the hotel offers any pet-sitting service, just in case you need to go sightseeing in a specific place and not allowed to bring your furry friend.

Pet-Friendly Destinations

When planning your future trip to these locations, you won’t have to worry about that at all. The memories you make with your special companion will last a lifetime. While taking a trip tomorrow is not possible everywhere, we can use this time to plan the perfect adventure. Check out the top countries for pet-friendly travel in the Americas, Asia, and Europe to start preparing your itinerary for you and your pet, today.

Enjoy hundreds of hikes in the Alps to walks around the stunning cities such as Zurich and Geneva. Your furry friend will adore your trip to Switzerland together.

The United States

British Columbia’s city, Vancouver, is known worldwide as one of the best places to bring your pet in North America. While there are hundreds of pet-friendly vacation rentals and hotels to visit, Canada also boasts epic road trips filled with nature fun for you and your pet. From visiting Lake Banff to taking the pet-friendly Canadian ferries where your pet will travel in ultimate comfort, there are so many ways to explore Canada with your dog or cat by your side. He or she will love traveling by both land and sea.

France

Does your pup want a seat at the dinner table? If yes, then take your pet on a French escape. France has a pretty relaxed policy when it comes to traveling with your pets because this country deserves to be visited by everyone and everything. Looking for the perfect destination to mix fun and exploration? Take your furry friend to the Pyrennees where they can roam freely while you sit back, relax, and enjoy your holiday break.

The Netherlands

What’s one of the best parts of visiting the Netherlands with your pet? They can ride on any public transport for free, and on trains for just 3€ for an all-day pass either in your lap or in a carrier, depending on their size. While like all destinations your pet will require the proper paperwork and vaccines to visit, The Netherlands is a great place for you and your dog to explore the many open-air outdoor attractions including parks, the Amsterdam canals, the charming neighborhoods, and more. Amsterdam was even named the most animal-friendly city in the Netherlands in 2019. We can’t wait to visit with our own pets.

Japan

While the busy streets of Japan’s larger cities, including Tokyo, may not seem like the best place to visit with your pet, the country has actually made major strides to promote a pet-friendly culture and atmosphere for both its residents and tourists. With almost 1,000 pet-friendly hotels, pet-friendly offices, and spacious parks, there is so much to do, see, and explore, with your pet pal. He or she will also love visiting Japan’s beautiful beaches where they can run and enjoy the water. Be sure to check Japan’s passport rules for animals before jet-setting off to the country to avoid any issues upon arrival.

Austria

From Vienna to Salzburg, Austria is home to many places for you to explore with your furry friend. In the capital city, you can take your pet on a cruise along the Danube river, stroll with your dog in the Ring Road and go to the famous Naschmarkt, Vienna’s outdoor market, with 120 food stalls and restaurants. Vienna also has a multitude of pet-friendly cafes and restaurants, and dogs are allowed on public transport. Small dogs traveling in a container or in a fully-enclosed bag are free of charge. Other dogs have to leash and muzzled and have a half-price ticket.

Salzburg, the Austrian city located on the border of Germany, is also a perfect pet travel destination. The city is more compact and walkable than Vienna, so you won’t have any problems strolling around with your dog when exploring the history of Salzburg by wandering around the narrow alleys of Salzburg’s Old Town.

So where will you plan your first pet-friendly getaway?

With so many places to explore, you and your pet will have a full itinerary ready for future trips. Be sure to check the pet-friendly travel policies and guidelines for both you and your pet before making any travel plans, including paperwork and vaccines. Always take the extra time to make sure you have everything, so you can avoid pre-trip mishaps and focus on the experience with your best pal.

Best European Cities to See for the First Time Traveler on Chinese New Year

Best European Cities to See for the First Time Traveler on Chinese New Year

Destination Deep-Dive 3 MINS READ

This Chinese Spring Festival is promising to bring new travel experiences for every Chinese, If you want to squeeze as much of the European vibe and must-see spots on your Europe trip in Spring Festival, February 2019, you may want to read on to see where to go to get the best out of the very very first time in the Old World.

If you want to celebrate the upcoming pig year with a trip to Europe together with your partner, the City of Lights, Paris, is one of the best places to start with. It has been a center of arts for years, and even now, you can go to see one of the world’s most famous paintings, “Mona Lisa,” in Louvre, along with other pieces important that have marked the Western and World histories, such as the Code of Hammurabi and Hellenistic sculptures. While in France, do not lose your time and take the chance to climb the Eiffel Tower and visit the vineyards in Bordeaux.

If France, especially Paris is the center of arts for centuries, then Italian artisans are leading the European and World art scenes for more than a millennium. Since the days of the Roman Empire Italy is the center of painting, sculpture, innovation, sustained and funded by trade in Medditarean sea. You must visit Rome to see what everyone is talking about: from Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain and Pantheon to modern day Italian shopping mecca Milan with world-famous designer stores and Venice with its glass artisans, Italy is a place to go if time is your concern. Moreover, if you feel like missing out on the Chinese Lantern Festival, then February Italian Carnevale can offer you the same and more. To experience the blue skies and small-town idyll of Italy accompanied with Roan carnival, visit Aosta Valley, but fo orange-throwing battle, go to Ivrea.

Feel yourself in wonderland in the wintertime when visiting the fairytale-like Neuschwanstein Castle on the top of the hill, and seeing the Berlin wall, learning about the age of Cold War when Europe was divided in two. Seeing the impressive Cologne Cathedral and Berlin’s Brandenburg Gate will take just a day or two, making Germany a perfect place to go to in the midst of your Europe travel. It also is well connected by trains and air transport, so getting from or to Germany will cost you little.

No matter what somebody may say, there is never an off-season in London. Being the city of the world, it is always overflowing with energy and things to do. Apart from visiting the Big Ben and Buckingham Palace, make sure to visit the nearby Bicester village – it is a true fashion utopia, yet very conveniently located if you happen to be in London.

Barcelona being a Catalonian capital is one of the best cities to add to your European tour. It is well connected with other major cities – flights are cheap, and FlixBus, a cheap bus service operating in Europe, is serving all those who want to see more of Europe, while not spending weeks.  Make sure to put a day aside for Barcelona – you will love its free spirit, happy people and warm nights, when compared to other parts of Europe in February. Gaudi architecture is all around, but you can also visit museums to learn more. Make sure to get a pair of espadrilles – the handmade shoes specific to Spain!

No matter where your Europe trip brings you this time, for the first-time traveler, Paris, London, Venice and Rome are must-visit cities to catch the vibe of Europe at the same time seeing its diversity. From modern London to laid back Rome and romantic Paris, there is no better way to discover European culture, art, and people – and shop for some great fashion pieces!

3,2,1 Action: New York

3,2,1 Action: New York

Destination Deep-Dive 3 MINS READ

When planning a trip to New York, the first thing that comes to mind is a battery of images that we have all seen on the big screen. The city of skyscrapers has become a set of shooting in itself: “When I’m in New York, I just want to walk down the street and feel like I’m in a movie”, Ryan Adams.

Who does not remember those musical fights between the Sharks and the Jets in the streets of the Upper West Side? Who has not dreamed of having Breakfast in front of Tiffany’s and singing Moon River on a fire escape with the same glamor as Audrey Hepburn? Or even to spy on the neighbors of Greenwich Village from a Rear window, because as John Lennon said: “I regret profoundly that I was not an American and not born in Greenwich Village. It might be dying, and there might be a lot of dirt in the air you breathe, but this is where it’s happening”.

New York is a city with a soul and if there is someone who loves this city and has been able to transfer that passion through the screen, it is undoubtedly Woody Allen. Movies like Manhattan and that emotional final scene convince us that love may be fragile and fleeting, but it’s worth the risk every time. That’s New York, a city where anything can happen. A city where you learn to have faith in people.

But there is a world beyond the movies. You do not have to be a film buff to know the streets of the city. Let’s say: “Central Perk”, I bet that 90% of you know what we mean, right? Joe, Chandler, Rachel, Phoebe, Monica, and Ross spent many hours with those huge cups of coffee as we spend many hours in front of the TV with tears of laughter watching this group of Friends.

And what about the mythical Sex and the City? I’m sure you can picture yourself going into a Manhattan bar with Manolo Blahnik’s shoes and asking for one of those pink cocktails. Do not miss visiting Carry’s apartment on the Upper East Side (66 Perry Street) after a day of shopping on the Fifth Avenue.

If you are interested in the architecture, you are in the right city as well. Surely you have heard about Ted Mosby and How he met the mother of his children. His love for the Empire State Building or those wonderful moments with Robin, Marshall, and Lilly on the roof of his apartment, right above MacLaren’s pub (which is based on McGee’s pub on West 55th Street), are in everyone mind.

New York, it’s that city that never sleeps. That city which is always the center of the catastrophe, where the Armageddon begins and the one in which monsters like Godzilla reproduce. That city where everything can happen and in which everyone has a dream:

New York, New York

I want to wake up in a city, that doesn’t sleeps

And find king of the hill one top of the list

A number one

The options are endless, but we are going to give you a list of 5 things you MUST do if you are in the city of skyscrapers at least once in your life:

  1. Try the Katz’s pastrami sandwich sitting on the same table as Meg Ryan and Billy Crystal and “scream” in that peculiar way.
  2. Sing “Ta, na, na, na, na, na, GHOSBUSTERS!” At the National Library of Fifth Avenue.
  3. Play the giant piano of the FAO Schwartz toyshop emuling Tom Hanks while you become a child again.
  4. Stay on top of the Empire State Building with someone who could be the love of your life (you can always use the Tinder) …
  5. Cook Spaghetti and use a tennis racquet as a Jack Lemmon style strainer in the Apartment.

Because you can visit many cities in the world, but there are none the same in the world. As our favorite Taxi Driver Robert De Niro says: “I go to Paris, I go to London, I go to Rome, and I always say,” There’s no place like New York. It’s the most exciting city in the world now. That’s the way it is. That’s it”.

Do you still need more? Well, click here and start planning that dream trip in which you are the Star.

Want repeat Visitors to Your Rental_Here’s What To Do

Want repeat Visitors to Your Rental_Here’s What To Do

Florida 2 MINS READ

Of course you want repeat visitors, right? You want your reputation to flourish and you want people to love your rental so much to book again. But how do you make this happen?

4 Ways to Get Your Visitors Booking Again and Again

Include Your Proximity to Attractions In Your Listing and Title

Take advantage of the title of your listing and draw visitors in with your advantages. For example, you could say something like “Just five minutes from (biggest attraction in area here.)” Be sure to also point out how close you are to public transportation.

Create a Detailed Welcome Folder

Your ultimate goal should be to make your guests feel at home. Put together a folder and place it on the dining room table so they will see it upon walking in.

The majority of the welcome folder should include detailed information of all attractions, restaurants, shopping centers, and public transportation around the area. Although most people have a GPS or a smartphone, it’s ideal to leave directions to each place, just in case. It’s better to give them too much help than to have them get lost when trying to find the place you told them about.

You can conveniently print out directions from websites like Google, Mapquest, etc. and input the address of the vacation rental to each of the attractions and restaurants.

Another idea is to have a few brochures readily available for nearby attractions so they can get in-depth information.

Maintain a Calendar of Events

This may be a bit of work but it will be an easy investment on your part. Keep track of all events around the area. Add them to the calendar so your visitors can view. Even if just one person returns to your rental twice in one year, the hard work will pay off.

It’s not really hard to do something like this, either, it’s just finding the time to check out venues, attractions, restaurants, parks, etc. and find out the events they will be having for the year. You could even sign up for newsletters from the most popular places around so you can receive events right in your email.

Keep Visitors in the Loop With a Newsletter

Some of your visitors may only be a one-time guest. However, if you keep all of your visitors in the loop with a newsletter, you can pique their curiosity with fun events and promotions throughout the year. When someone books your vacation rental, you can ask for their email and if they would like to opt-in to newsletters that will provide them with special news and discounts. Most people will say yes, especially with the word “discount” so you should have no issues building up an email list.

Quick tip: Some websites that offer sending out automated emails are free for a certain amount of subscribers – Mailchimp is a good example.

How to Make a Vacation Rental Pay For Itself

How to Make a Vacation Rental Pay For Itself

Florida 2 MINS READ

Whether you’re longing for becoming an owner of a vacation rental – or maybe you already took the plunge but now you’re worried about making the most profit – you can make your vacation rental literally pay for itself. How can you do this? Check out these tips below.

Promote, Promote, Promote
While this may seem like an obvious tip, you would be surprised at how many people don’t understand the power of marketing – That’s okay, because if you’re one of those people who lacks marketing experience, you have time to brush up on it now or hire someone to help. Even if you list your vacation rental on a top site like CuddlyNest, you still need to get the word out to people that your place is up for rent.

Some people just want single nights – Offer It
Of course, you’ll want to charge a bit more for just a single night. Sometimes the single night option is best for some people. Also, it may seem less intimidating to them (they may think they will be saving a ton of money by staying one night.) Many landlords will cringe at the idea of offering anything less than seven days for a rental period. However, sometimes it can be highly beneficial – It can fill in any gas in your booking schedule.

Peak season is the time to be available
If possible, always be available during peak season. You can significantly increase your income by renting out your vacation home during peak times. You could even use the home yourself during off seasons and rent out just during peak seasons if you don’t want to rent out all year around.

Always keep up on maintenance
Sure, you may have to spend a bit of cash up front; however, keeping up on the maintenance will save you even more money in the long run. For example, let’s say the toilet kept overflowing or the heater kept shutting off, this will cause such an inconvenience to your tenants and you would have to refund them some of their money. By keeping up on maintenance and having your appliances, electrical, and all other necessities checked on, you can feel reassured that your tenants will not experience any issues – leaving more cash in your wallet … because that’s the goal, right?

The above tips are going to help you make the profit you deserve. CuddlyNest will also provide you with the resources and information to keep this a good investment.

CuddlyNest! Oh, So Hip!

CuddlyNest! Oh, So Hip!

Florida 4 MINS READ

As the vacation rental market has been expanding dramatically within the last few years, a great number of VR new websites has come to existence. However; one sees not much difference among most of these websites. Does any of them fill a gap in the vacation rental market? Is any of them giving hosts a real opportunity to gain more control over their listings? Set their standards in convenience with their circumstances? Not really. It is not crucially to add a new VR website to the already crowded market as much as it is to fill a gap in it and listen to the needs of those who practically comprise it- the hosts.

It was a matter of time before the founder of CuddlyNest realized the fact that hosts are struggling with some of the restraints they were obliged to follow, simply because they have no other choice.  The whole idea of the vacation rental market is to provide hospitality to guests exploring new horizons, making them feel like they are at home when they are thousands of miles away from it. But, who thought about the hosts?

When people decide to list their homes, they are making a drastic change to their lives, adjusting to it, and taking much of their time, effort, and money to provide the best service to others. They are giving others comfort, joy, and pleasure but are sometimes giving these out at the expense of their peace of mind.

Why are hosts struggling? Well, to start with, unicorn companies impose their terms that do not – in many cases- take any consideration of the hosts’ benefits. Hosts need to pay big chunks of money to list their homes, not to mention if they want to list hundreds of homes and need to pay to list them all.

CuddlyNest start up brought up a great opportunity that cannot be matched. Hosts pay no subscription fees, no matter how many listings they have. Period. The idea is to save hosts some money that could be better spent on renovations, adding amenities to the properties or just kept in the bank! CuddlyNest will never impose subscription fees out of the fact that hosts should not be exploited to get their listings-hopefully- viewed and rented. They can fully synchronize their calendars from other unicorn VR websites. All it takes is a click, and the calendar is ready! This means no proactive management of the listing is necessary on CuddlyNest.

To give hosts even a great promotional booster when using CuddlyNest, they can provide links to their vacation rental websites for no charge. This is a great opportunity that no other website than CuddlyNest offers. This way, hosts get far more clicks and inquiries on their websites. If they have no websites, they get inquiries on their Cuddlynest inbox and can choose to transact and pay on Cuddlynest platform or transact outside it.

Atop of all these privileges, CuddlyNest has a professional services department that fully lists properties on behalf of hosts who do not have time to relist their VR properties but want to advertise them on other popular VR sites starting with Cuddlynest. Hosts using major VR brands can get more visibility and exposure, and increase their chances of filling their rental calendar by using Cuddlynest.

Other great promotional opportunities include social media and featured homes viewing. No other VR website in the market can beat this!

Another fact hosts need to accept when using vacation rental websites is that they need to conform to one method of payment: website booking with a surprising fee that usually leaves guests unhappy at checkout. Guests need to add this amount of fee to the overall booking cost, which they could spend touring around the city and enjoying their vacation. This fee usually varies between 18% -25%. This is a lot of money added especially for stays of more than a few days.  So, how does CuddlyNest eventually guarantee to have happy hosts and no run-away guests? Right from the time a host lists the property, they set up the payment method, which could be completed through CuddlyNest or off-site.

  • Choosing to get paid via CuddlyNest means hosts can absorb, share, or get the guest pay the small booking fee of 9% booking- compared to a minimum of % 18 on other websites.
  • Choosing to get paid off-site means that the host’s contact information will not be blanketed. Hosts and guests can communicate and arrange whichever payment method both parties agree on. In this case, CuddlyNest will not charge any booking fees from any party.

If the property is not available on CuddlyNest, guests who like to avoid paying booking fees can simply request the host to synch her property from other unicorn sites – where booking fees are mandatory- to CuddlyNest.

But what about other options like business-friendly listings and instant booking? Does a host have to give up these choices when using CuddlyNest? Absolutely not, hosts can still enjoy listing their business- friendly properties, list all their amenities and provide a great work environment and comfort for business travelers. Guests who want to book a listing in a hotel-like experience- no waiting to communicate with the host- can also find their perfect retreat and get it reserved in a click of a link.

Six Real-life Guest Complaints and how vacation rental owners can fix them?

Anything, from a broken heating system, an ant colony to a busted dryer can drive your vacation rental guests crazy. The result will be a scornful guest complaint that ruins your listing’s chance of being booked by other guests. A leading website Statista.com quoted a survey in which 53 percent of the guest respondents were most agitated by the unpleasant carpet odors. Other complaints included running out of hot water and noise. Such complaints can be avoided easily. “Prevent rather than cure”.

Here’s a list of most frequently cited complaints by guests and ideas on how to zero in on these issues.
